Take 5 with … Rebecka Shelberg
There are so many wonderful and talented people living (and dining) in our community. Here's another one.
Librarian, children’s author, craftivist (From Fire & Grace) and book enthusiast, Rebecka has lived in and around the Hills District for the past 20 years, and now resides in Quakers Hill with her bearded husband, three small mischievous children, two fluffy dogs, and a bearded dragon. Rebecka's books include Reflection and Visiting You (featuring illustrations from last week's Take 5er, Andrea Edmonds)
1. Where is your favourite place to eat in the Hills District?
Nobles Restaurant. With small children, we don't get there very often but when we do, I always try something new and I have never been disappointed! Their food is amazing and it's such a lovely, welcoming and relaxing environment. Nobles is also where my husband proposed so there is a sentimental attachment for us as well.
2. What is your beverage of choice?
I love a good Mojito.
3. If you could have dinner with any 5 people (alive or dead), who would they be?
1. Shaun Tan
2. J.K. Rowling
3. Magda Szubansk
4. Malala Yousafzai
5. Marcus Zusak
4. If money, destination and logistics were no object, what would be your best night out experience?
A perfect night out would consist of a few hours perusing bookstores, good food, and friends, so I think I'd ditch the kids, take my favourite grown up people and hit New York City. A few friends of mine have recently done the NYC book trail and I was extremely jealous!
5. What music always puts you in the party mood?
I must admit that when I want to dance around, I always put on either Taylor Swift (kid safe lyrics) or The Wiggles as most my dancing is done around the kitchen with my kids (does that count?)
Shake it off and rock-a-bye your bear all night long, groovers!
Nice one, Rebecka!
